| This isnt really me telling people how to do it, i was wondering if anybody else out there knew how to and could possibly give me a little over view or teach me the basics to it or something like that. i just bought a MIG welder, but i dont know the first thing about it. lol, if anybody has any tips or whats to help a brotha out, let me know | |

| Crank up the heat, keep torch close to metal, and always use scraps for practice before attacking what you will be welding What type of welder did you get, size, gas or flux? If I was home, I could show ya | |

| its just a little $400 craftsman welder and it converts? like, it can be either gas, or gasless. | |

| Go with gas, if you can get a bottle, more expensive, but much cleaner welds. Look through the instructions if you have them, and do a lot of research on welding, its a fine art, and takes a lot of practice and patience. I know, been doing it for 7 years in the Air Force. Post up some pics, and I can give ya a bunch of advice when you start welding. | |

| alright, thanks man. me and my dad bought it for our '70 bronco to weld new floor pans in and do all the body work and i figured i'd do stuff like weld my emblem holes and antenna and small stuff like that, but figured i'd make myself a new exhaust while im at it. lol, but were about to buy some metal sheets to just mess around with and see if we cant get the hang of it. | |

| Yea what he said. I learned from getting the plasma cutter, cutting out peices of metal, and then putting them back together. So good luck man, and let us know how it goes. | |

| Go to some body shops, or local metal working places, I'm not sure where to get metal, just check around, look in the phone book. And when you do start welding, remember, preparation is key, always prep the area to be welded, sanding, wire brush, cleaning, and heres one trick to welding- copper plate on back side, that does the trick. | |
