PostSubject: WoW Exhaust   WoW Exhaust EmptyThu 13 Dec 2007, 10:13 pm

Hey All haven’t had time to post.. but here is some cool news

Saw it with my own eyes

00 prelude, DOHC VTEC, turbo (not
sure of the setup) and few other little
goodies, 2 1/4 Exhaust dynoed in the 170s ,,We went to a 3 inch Exhaust . I was
thinking 195ish ...BAM… I was wrong .. it broke 229 first run .. and got better
every run..

Ill get more details tomorrow ,, when I can look at the Dyno
results and the car

how much boost did it have? i dont mean to be an asshole, but is it a surprise that it jumped to that much power? big exhausts are good for turboed cars. stock whp for 5th gen preludes is like 160ish. capri dynoed her lude at 6psi and i think she got 237. most of the time i see them in the 230's with 3" exhaust. so thats about normal. but another case in point. i have a friend that had a modified GTI. stock exhaust (2.25) on like 14psi i think.. no shitting he only pulled me about a car length from 40-90 in my stock, AUTOMATIC prelude (that ran 11.7 in an 1/8th mile). i actually inched on him at the top of 2nd gear and a little again once i got to the top of 3rd. he later upgraded to a 3" and he walked away like i was sitting still.

I'm not suprised that it made that much difference. I'm planning on going boosted with my b18c1 and I currently have a 2 1/4 exhaust on mine and my machanic and other people said if I couldn't afford the exhaust when I put the turbo on I could leave this one on for a little while and be pushing ~275whp or so...

Then when that wasn't fast enough or I could afford a full 3" setup, that change alone would bump it up to around ~350whp. WoW Exhaust 550103 But I agree with Drew...it all depends on your setup.

if your motor requires more room to breathe, then its time for a larger exhaust. more air in requires more air out

my car has a 3" exhaust, but when i open the cutout i pick up 20 rwhp. thats off the spray, will be a larger difference when i am spraying the 200 shot
