Gonna try and cram 4 10's in my truck

i built the box i have now out of old shit i found laying around. well
now that i have more materials and skills im going to overhaul my audio
for the 5th time.

What i have now
Sony xplode head unit (real cheap)
2 xplode 6x9's
2 xplode 6's
2 xplode 10 inch 1200 watt subs
2 xplode 1200 watt amps (2 channel)
5 feet of 0 gauge wire
15 feet of 4 gauge wire
Stinger 1 to 2 distribution block with Midi Style 100 watt fuses

As my truck sits now there are no electronics in it except for my cb
radio and my pa. I no longer have my headunit so im looking for a new
one for under $200.

What I have that i want to put in

2 tweeters
2 more Xplode 1200 watt 10's
JBL 4 channel (might be six) component amp

So basically the box wiil fill all of the space behind the seats with
some kind of cradle beneath it because the floor is so damn uneven and
i have no carpet. In my head I invision the 4 subs pointing up with the
2 amps behind the seats.

The subs are the XS-L103p5b's

So heres what i need help with
- Great head Unit under $200
- What type of materials to use for the box
- Dimensions of the box
- how to build it right
- Which would sound better, sealed or ported? (or both)
- Size of ports?
- I need to build some door pods for the 6's and 6x9's

yeah good joke. i think im going to go with the middle two sealed and the outer two ported.

also i think im gonna swap in a bench seat

alright well im going to go with all 4 ported, the box will be roughly 40 inches long, 10 inches tall, and 10 inches wide

Definately get working pics, good luck with the project. You going to use any fiberglass? I'm building an underseat box for my truck, and have the base formed already, just need to get time to finish. Maybe your project will give me the momentum I need!

no fiber glass for me. some audio guru from another forum told me i need 1.6 cf per speaker, this bitch is gonna be huge

its not gonna be too bad, thats just 6.8 cf total + port area. that should fit within your dimensions. your dimensions stated above would yield 2.3 cf which would be about the right size including port area, maybe have a lil left to spare.

i got a box for 4 15s vented at 35 Hz.
49" tall 39" long 18" wide/thick

3/4 MDF

if you wanted to make it symetrical put the port in the middle, split the port size and tee the port design inside the box breaking it into 2 chambers
