Does Anyone Race Around Here???

Obviously youve got your head on straight 7mboost.

Your right about tracks and the different prep they get. I hear Mobile is slippery as hell and they just dont prep it enough. As for Emerald Coast Dragway, I walk that track almost every weekend and I know how much time they spend on the surface and how well its prepped. I get retardedly defensive about our little 1/8 mile cause I love it so much and thats where I learned to race.

As for wanting to race from a dig... Im just old school and I came up in the infantcy of the turbo revolution. So stop light to stop light is where it was at. Plus it sounds silly but my racing background actually comes from racing RC (remote controlled) cars and suspension set up is 99% of how well your gonna do in a race as well as throttle control. So I tend to focus more on set up and hooking up my little FWD

sorry i dont like holt... but i've been to numerous tracks all over the country. holt, is by far the worst track all around, from atmosphere, how they treet street cars, and track prep. it was OKAY when i first got here... not so much now. what sucks worse is i'm only about 20-30 mins from it... used to be closer to 50-60 mins away.

I was showing you how the previous argument made no sense at all, if my point isn't clear let me make it.

If you mod a car, it's not "basically stock" that is a ricer term. My friend has an 03 cobra making 455/480 and his mods would be considered basic for his car, not heavily moddified. He spent less than $1000 in actual parts, not killing his wallet as bad as he would kill a majority of the cars on the street roaming around. As far as the stage3 beating a cobra, was this mistaken for the slower 99/01 cobra? I'm doubtful a stage3 could beat a stock 03 cobra, much less one with any sort of mods. My Lightning (which is slow) has slayed a fair share of stage 2 - 3 srt4's from a dig/roll (which is the only thing they are good for anyway)

It's like y'all are the red headed step children. I personally like to race SRT4's. Sometimes they surprise the shit out of you.

i almost had an srt-4 to be honest... was about to buy it... but i fucking HATE fwd so I didnt, i raced a 95 neon back in the day and couldnt get it to hook n/a, fuck somethin with 200 hp hahahha.

I dont feel alienated from any crowd. I have buddies with Lightings, Mustangs, Evo's, Hondas etc. Only on the forum people seem kinda defensive about their vehicles. I'm a car lover preiod.

But seriously people act different on the forums versus the local hangouts. I may come off as a dick at times on the internet, but anybody that has spoken to me in person knows that I'm a very laid-back person that gives nuff respect to people and their cars!

Yeah i got called an import or like 2-3 different occasions, I lol'd. No one likes the neon, i find it quite funny. I surprise alot of people with it tho, they aren't expecting it

Well hate to break it to you, I sat in the passenger seat and saw it first hand. Stage 3 put 6 lengths on 03 corba not once but twice.

if it had the typical mods of a cobra its a mid 11 second car with a GOOD driver... so you didnt beat the car, you beat the driver.

It was an 03 Cobra because the damn guy said it was, and there is a big fuckin difference between a 03 and a 99. Also it was dyno'd with 400RWHP. If you want to make up a reason of driver mod bs to make yourself feel better, then go ahead, but the driver had nothing to do with the results of the race. He drove the hell out of the car and what can I say..............Neon by 6 cars LOL.

Nothing against Shawn at all (driver of the Cobra). He is a cool guy, just telling you the stage 3 neon is faster.

There is a big difference between stage 2 and stage 3 also when you are talking about srt-4's. A BIG differance.

400 rwhp? thats a cobra with an intake and exhaust. no pulley for sure. maybe a tune?!? thats a mid 12 second cobra at best (convertible you said) with a good driver. thats very believable.

I heard that since his was a vert it is slower I guess if it was not a vert with the same power he would of put six cars on the srt right?

no... its just about 300 lbs lighter if its a hard top. which equates to roughly .3 faster in the 1/4, so a low 12 second car (12.3 ish) instead of a mid 12 second (12.5-12.7 ish) car.

thats the only difference... the weight. maybe a lil in suspension stuff from a dig, but nto enough to make a real difference... just the weight!

if it was a hard top you would have put about 3ish cars on him is my guess.

Quick question how many stg3 srt-4's have you seen around here? I only know of one (mine) stg2 is just a PCM and injectors. Stg3 is bigger turbo, fuel pump, injetors etc..

I know it's hard to fathom getting raped by a Neon with a baby seat in the back.

no its not.. i've seen many many videos of very fast srt-4s, i remember a few years back watching the video of the first one to break into the 10s. then a vid of 1 blowing up runnin 10s (yellow one).

it takes experience, time and money.

theres an 03 cobra in muscle mustangs/fast fords that put down 1188 rwhp with the stock powertrain. had twin turbos fed into a supercharger. compound boost ftmfw!

kay, in the earlier post, yall were talkin about the specific times a car will run...

well um, how can you predic what the car will run with no previous experience of that car other than the mods that it has. there are so many variables like conditions, tires, if the car's been dogged a lot, and other things. it seems near impossible to predict what the car will run and be accurate give or take a .1 second.
